Statistics of agreed investments for the year 2014

The Business and Development Agency "CzechInvest" published the statistics of agreed investments for the year 2014 to be realized in the Czech Republic. The statistics also show positive figures in connection with the Karlovy Vary Region. Overall, last year the Karlovy Vary Region was successful in 7 negotiations relating to new investments of total amount of 3 690 million CZK. When concerning the absolute invested amount – the Region has been ranking the 6th place. This result shows an increased interest in both domestic as well as foreign investors in this Region. In the investment projects the investors promised to create at least 536 new jobs. In relation with an absolute value of invested sum, the Ústí nad Labem Region ranks the 1st place, which was caused by an investment of investor Nexen Tire Corporation with the total invested amount of 22,764 million CZK in this Region.

Generally said, the volume of transacted investments in the Czech Republic was significantly higher than in previous years. "The increased activity of foreign investors relates to the gradual recovery of the European market that has been driven primarily by the automotive industry," comments the current situation Mr. Jan Mládek, Minister of Industry and Trade. "However, the Czech companies are also active. High number of them have been expanding and investing hundreds of millions to billions of CZK. These firms include esp. engineering, textile and food companies" added the Mr. Jan Mládek.
