Czech-Bavarian Geopark
Due to the existence of many technical and other cultural sights in this region that are connected with the mining past of the area, projects are being prepared for their reconstruction to open up these sights to the public. Other planned investments should create educational trails and informational signs and technologies.

Transport Terminals
Some additional projects for transport terminals in towns of Sokolov, Cheb and Mariánské Lázně are being prepared at this moment. These projects should enable further optimization and this should make public mass transportation system in the Karlovy Vary Region more enjoyable for the passengers.
The Medard Project
A complete revitalization of the area after brown coal mining is being prepared for the areas close to the towns of Sokolov and Habartov, and near the villages of Svatava, Bukovany and Citice. Its main attraction will be the Medard Lake with an area of 500 hectares. The areas around the lake will be used not only for residential and recreational activities, but also for locating businesses in an attractive locality.

Development of Biking Development of Biking and Watercraft Tourism tourism
Bike trail along the Ohře River and other projects within the realm of cycling tourism
Currently, the project documentation for all the remaining sections of the bike trail along the river Ohře is being prepared (for example Cheb – Sokolov, through Sokolov, Svatošské scaly/the Svatoš Rocks – Karlovy Vary, Dalovice – Boč – border with the Ústí nad Labem Region). The manager of the whole activity is the Karlovy Vary Region that chose the company that prepared the projects and devoted the necessary financial means that were added to the financial means provided by the other towns and villages.

The Ohře River for Boating Men
The planned activities include a larger and better background for the watercraft enthusiasts (camping places and their outfitting, boat and raft rentals, training courses, boarding facilities, accommodations, and info-centres). Another important question is measures to improve the safety of the watercraft-sportsmen and the navigability of the river that should be improved in some places (modifications and reconstructions of some weirs, building sluice-gates for the watercraft).
